Chelsea philisophy drowned Torres

Since the Fernado Torres move to Chelsea from Liverpool for 50M pounds, he has only scored 5 goals in all competition for Chelsea and hasn't scored since September in a game against Swansea. However, Torres is not the only Chelsea player to have experienced goal drought upon switching clubs, Shevchenko and Kezman were once in his shoes

Andre Villas-Boas said "We have been through the Torres situation before with [Andriy] Shevchenko and [Mateja] Kezman," he said, referring to other expensive forwards who have failed to flourish at Stamford Bridge. "But Torres's problems may have also come from a change of philosophy at the club".

AVB not sure about his future at Chelsea

Before now, AVB has always stressed that he had the full backing of the club's billionaire owner; Roman Abramovich but he took a new turn today on a Portuguese radio station saying "It'll be one of two [reactions] - a continuation of the project and full support or just the cultural pattern that has happened before. We don't know if it'll be tomorrow or in two years from now,It'll depend upon what is your understanding of what is happening at the moment. I think I have felt the confidence from Abramovich. But the pattern of behaviour of the owner has led to a downfall in similar situations or even 'better' situations"

Can Abramovich just give this guy time!

If AVB is still at Chelsea at the end of the season, he will be willing to welcome the Brazilian forward from Porto. There is a chance that Didier Drogba, Kalou and Malouda will be leaving at the end of the season and the coach wants a strong replacement.

He said "We have Kalou and Malouda, both of whom are nearing the end of their contracts, while Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge are the future. As such, there will surely be a place to fill and I see room for an explosive player on the wing, someone who is strong in one-on-one situations and Hulk fits that profile."

Place of Birth:           Porto, Portugal
Height:                      6ft 0in
Current Club:            Chelsea Fc
Honors:                     Premiera Liga 2011, UEFA Cup 2011

Brief:
Born in Porto,Villas-Boas at the age of 16 lived in the same apartment block as Sir Bobby Robson, who was then manager of FC Porto. "I was a small boy, but because I was so interested in football I went to his flat to try to meet him," he recalled. Following a discussion between the two, Robson appointed Villas-Boas to Porto's observation department. Villas-Boas has spoken fluent English since childhood, as his grandmother was from Stockport.Robson arranged for Villas-Boas to obtain the FA coaching qualification, the UEFA C coaching licence in Scotland and for him to study the training methods of Ipswich Town, then managed by George Burley. He later also obtained his B licence, A licence and UEFA Pro Licence in Scotland, under the tutelage of Jim Fleeting.

Villas-Boas had a short stint as head coach of the British Virgin Islands national team at the age of 21."I was basically the country's coach. I was a kid, but they didn't know that. I only told them my age the day I left the post. It was such a grand job for a 21-year-old. I was in charge for the 2002 World Cup qualifiers, and I remember Bermuda beating us very heavily, with Shaun Goater scoring five goals. It was a bad defeat, but still an unbelievable experience for a guy so young," he said. After this, he returned home to coach Porto's under-19 youth team, and later as the assistant to José Mourinho (another protégé of Robson's). "Because Jose knew me well from his time as Bobby Robson's assistant, he asked me to create the Opponent Observation Department." This process was meticulous, taking four days to compile a file.

As Mourinho moved clubs to Chelsea and Internazionale, Villas-Boas followed.

RVP Contract talks on-hold

The Premier League’s leading goalscorer has about a year left to run on his current deal before it expires, which has led to speculation surrounding his future with the club.

In his club's official match day programme, he said "There have been a lot of stories, generally contradictory ones, about my contract situation recently so I’d like to make it clear. There’s nothing complicated or sinister - the Club and I have both agreed to speak at the end of the season and see how things stand. The boss, Ivan Gazidis and I are all comfortable with it.I need all my focus to be on football - on captaining this team, improving every day, doing extra work on the training pitch and preparing for the very busy schedule of fixtures we have.If I look down the list, there’s not much time to sit down and think about anything else! For me, this is a time to play football and not speak about personal things. All of my energy needs to go on getting this team where we want it to be this season.”

Arsenal, will you loose out on this guy?

Abramovich to decide AVB's future

The UK Sunday Express says despite Chelsea’s win over Bolton yesterday, owner Roman Abramovich – who hired Villas-Boas from Porto after winning the EUFA CUP – is to admit that his choice has failed.
Now Abramovich has been told by his advisors that the club won’t win anything with a divided dressing room. A Chelsea insider told the Sunday Express that the end was near for villas-Boas regardless of results. Last night Villas-Boas was linked with inter Milan.

Lampard Owns up to rift with AVB

Lampard has now confirmed that there have been issues, although he stressed that he wanted to remain positive.

Lampard was qouted, saying "I think, from the outside, you can probably see that it's not been ideal but the important thing is not to focus on individual relationships too much. It can only be negative and people do like to play on negatives.I've been here a long time, I'm 33, I'm realistic. He said. "It doesn't mean I want to play every game but, if I sit on the bench, I want to see Chelsea win.
"I'm sure we're all frustrated at the minute, everyone who's involved - especially people who have got Chelsea in their hearts, who have been here a long time and want to see us performing as we should do."
He added: "The only way we can push on from now - and secure Champions League football next year, potentially move through in the FA Cup and the Champions League this year - is to be positive.
"It's in the club's interest. It's not about any one individual here and negative things can take the shine off it."

Witchcraft is the reason for team split - Ghana Coach

According to BBC sport:

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has revealed deep divisions within the squad, saying some players used witchcraft against their own team-mates.
The Serbian made his claim in a leaked report on the Black Stars' failure at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, where they were beaten by eventual winners Zambia in the semi-finals.
"We all need to help in changing some players' mentality about using 'black power' to destroy themselves, and also make sure we instil discipline and respect for each other," the coach said.
In a report delivered to the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) executive committee, Stevanovic added: "After losing to Zambia, there arose so many accusations amongst the players.

Kwesi Nyantakyi GFA President
"I have learnt great lessons from African football and also about Ghanaian players' behaviour on and off the field.
The coach did not name any specific players in that part of the report and the GFA is refusing to comment on the matter, saying it does not discuss any issues arising from leaked documents.
"It has always happened, but players have used it to protect themselves and normally in search of luck," Sarfo Gyami, who was a member of the Ghana side at the 1992 Nations Cup, told BBC Sport.
"I have never heard of a situation when players have used it against their own colleagues. That is a very bad situation."
The image of Ghana's team during the Nations Cup was one of unity, with videos and pictures being beamed from the camp in Franceville of players holding late night prayer and singing sessions as a sign of their strong bond.
But both Stevanovic and GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi say there were deep divisions.
"During the competition we observed that some players played to achieve personal fame, prominence and excellence to the detriment of the team," Nyantakyi said at a press conference earlier this week.
"We also had complaints from some senior players, accusing some of the junior ones of disrespect."
Stevanovic's position is under serious threat, with the GFA reviewing his contract and due to make a decision on his future in two weeks.
However, he will lead the squad when they play Chile in the United States on Thursday.
